Job description

The Specialist will be provide knowledge and tools to develop and validate trim systems (upholstery and plastics) and materials in accordance with specific targets (quality, performance, timing and cost targets)


Main activities

  • Develop methods, tools and techniques for the relevant engineering methodology and manage the concerning KPIs
  • Scouting materials and technologies together with suppliers and design responsible
  • First contact with component suppliers
  • Technical specifications definition together with design responsible
  • Validation plan (DVP&R) definition and monitoring
  • Verification of applicability/building new internal engineering and testing standards
  • Product card definition
  • Interfacing with other internal departments for developing trim components to be installed on seats
  • Report weight/cost/performance status
  • Actively attending to technical and design reviews
  • Integration/harmonization with FCA regions




  • Master Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive engineering interior design and development, from concept through launch
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in seat engineering design and development, from concept through launch
  • Demonstrated experience with industry practices for seat systems and regulatory requirements related to seats
  • Proven ability to lead and resolve complex system issues
  • Strong technical knowledge of seat systems design and tooling
  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Team-working ability
